The Reading Group Experience

Unlike the typical web-based book clubs, the Reading In Groups Experience is based on live group readings and live discussions.
Kids read a short-story or a chapter of a book and share the lessons and values they learned.
The vision we have with this concept is to create a “read & think” experience that drives kids to understand and express the emotions that each character felt in the story.
By doing so, they naturally learn to identify their own and anyone else’s feelings, which help them develop emotional intelligence and socialization skills.
Reading material is chosen in advance and is paired to one or more core objectives per session, which revolve around the main values and topics emerging from each story.
Each kid is assigned to play 1 character.
The facilitator ensures upfront that each participant enjoys equal reading exposure. He also encourages every kid to finish their own reading assignments at their own pace, facilitating the process if needed.
The session is split in two parts: 20 mins of group reading and 20 mins of group discussion moderated by the facilitator upon predetermined topics.
